How a Toxic Poison Fluoride Became “Safe”

Facebook just suspended Natural News for 7 days for posting this rather ho-hum fluoride infographic

By Mike Adams on March 21, 2019

Mike Adams — Natural News March 19, 2019

The insanity of the tech giants’ censorship continues to expand by the day.
With Twitter having permanently banned the Health Ranger account several weeks ago (@HealthRanger) after I criticized Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey for his involvement in a shady crypto scheme, Facebook has now decided to suspend Natural News for seven days for posting the educational fluoride infographic you see below.
Entitled, “Fluoride… Did You Know?” the educational infographic presents fact-based historical information about fluoride, such as the fact that Crest toothpaste introduced fluoride into its products in 1955. Overall, it’s a rather ho-hum infographic and doesn’t even stand out as sensational in any way at all.
Now, when Natural News attempts to post anything on Facebook, we are greeted with this message that claims we violated “Facebook community standards.” (Apparently, Facebook community standards don’t allow teaching people to avoid toxic chemicals such as fluoride.)
Here’s the full infographic that earned the 7-day suspension from Facebook. As you view this, remind yourself that this is exactly the kind of information Facebook and the other tech giants have determined you are not allowed to see.

As Facebook now demonstrates on a daily basis, we are all living in the era of techno-fascism. Next, the tech giants are going to start banning all posts about nutrition and anti-cancer foods. (Trust me, that’s coming any day now…)

Fluoride—Drinking Ourselves to Death? - How a Toxic Poison Became “Safe”

Fluoride—Drinking Ourselves to Death?

There’s nothing like a glass of cool, clear water to quench your thirst! But the next time you turn on the tap, you might want to question whether that water is in fact, too toxic to drink. If your water is fluoridated, the answer is likely yes. For decades, we have been told a lie; a lie that has led to the deaths of millions of Americans and weakened the immune system of tens of millions more.

THIS LIE IS CALLED FLUORIDATION: The process of dripping fluoride into our municipal water supplies, which we were told was a safe and effective method of protecting our teeth from decay, but realistically, it is a deception of monumental proportions.

Remember the enormous volcanic eruption in Iceland about a year ago? Animals in southern Iceland were at risk of fluoride poisoning if they inhaled or ingested the ash from the eruption. Fluoride poisoning can lead to internal bleeding, long-term bone damage and tooth loss, according to BBC News (April 19, 2010):
The fluoride in the ash creates acid in the animals’ stomachs, corroding the intestines resulting in hemorrhages. It also binds with calcium in the bloodstream and after heavy exposure over a period of days makes bones frail and causes teeth to crumble.
Most folks never “connect the dots” between the tragic poisoning of these animals due to a natural event, and the intentional poisoning of human beings through accumulated fluoride toxicity from daily exposure.
In the USA, the practice of adding sodium fluoride to your tap water began in the 1940’s, but this wasn’t the first time fluoride had been added to the water supply. USAF Major George R. Jordan testified before  the UN-American Activity committees of Congress in the 1950’s that in his post as USA-Soviet liaison officer (1930’s), the Soviets openly admitted to “using the fluoride in the water supplies in their concentration camps, to make the prisoners stupid, docile, and subservient.
But isn’t fluoride good for your teeth? Contrary to popular opinion, fluoride doesn’t stop tooth decay at all and scientific studies have actually proven that fluoride causes dental fluorosis, brain damage, birth defects, and osteoporosis. If you use fluoridated toothpaste, check the warning label on the tube; it will shock you. The following warning is required an all fluoridated toothpaste by the FDA since April of 1997 due to the large number of calls to the Poison Control Centers for children who became acutely ill from ingested sodium fluoride:
WARNING: Keep out of reach of children under 6 years of age. In case of accidental overdose, seek professional assistance or contact a poison control center immediately.
In his book, Fluoride, The Aging Factor, Dr. John Yiamouyiannis warns:
Fluoride is a poison! . . . it has been used as a pesticide for mice, rats and other small pests. A 10-pound infant could be killed by 1/100 of an ounce and a 100-pound adult could be killed by 1/10 of an ounce of fluoride.
In 1977, epidemiological studies by Dr. Dean Burk, former head of the US National Cancer Institute’s cell chemistry section, and Yiamouyiannis reported that fluoridation is linked to about 10,000 cancer deaths yearly.
Fluoride causes more human cancer, and causes it faster, than any other chemical . . . more people have died in the last 30 years from cancer connected with fluoridation than all the military deaths in the entire history of the United States.
—Dr. Dean Burk, Congressional Record, 21 July 1976.
In 2005, a study conducted at the Harvard School of DENTAL HEALTH found that there is a direct correlation between fluoride and osteosarcoma (bone cancer) in young boys. Sodium fluoride inhibits enzyme activity, paralyzes white blood cells, and causes collagen to break down. Enzymes, the immune system, and collagen are all fundamental in fighting cancer. All in all, there are more than 500 peer-reviewed studies documenting the adverse effects of sodium fluoride ranging from cancer to brain damage.
In 2010, two separate stories from of India revealed that children are being blinded and crippled partly as a result of fluoride being artificially added to their drinking water. In the Indian village of Gaudiyan, well over half of the population has bone deformities, making them physically handicapped. Children are born normally but after they consume fluoridated water, they begin to develop crippling defects in their hands and feet.
Due to the excess fluoride content in drinking water,  dietary calcium is not absorbed in the body, causing disabilities and deformities.
—Dr. Amit Shukla, neurophysician
However, in a supercilious manner that would make the Medical Mafia proud, Indian government doctors have denied that fluoridation of drinking water has any connection to the disabilities and have refused to test the water, insisting such tests are “not necessary.” Meanwhile, in the village of Pavagada, children are going blind after being diagnosed with Lamellar Congenital cataract (a condition wherein the eye lenses are damaged). The local doctors attribute the child blindness to two factors—consanguineous marriages and the “fluoride content” of the water. LINK

A Little History
How a Toxic Poison Became “Safe”

In the 1920’s, aluminum manufacturing, due largely to the flourishing canning industry, was booming. But it was also a big producer of toxic waste, namely sodium fluoride. The biggest dilemma was the cost to safely dispose of this hazardous waste, since it was extremely expensive. A company in Pittsburgh, ALCOA, led by their founder and major stockholder, Andrew Mellon, had some “revolutionary” ideas of how to cut the costs of disposing of sodium fluoride.
Under EPA regulations, sodium fluoride was previously required to be disposed of in a landfill for toxic waste. However, Mellon got himself appointed Secretary of the Treasury which at that time was in charge of the US Public Health Services (PHS), and to make a long story short, without any studies, Mellon found a market for his toxic waste (and the toxic waste of the soon to emerge nuclear industry)—the municipal water supplies of the USA.
Under Mellon’s supervision, ALCOA-funded scientist Gerald J. Cox publicly declared that fluoride was good for your teeth, and in 1939, he proposed that the USA should fluoridate its water reservoirs. In essence, sodium fluoride was given the “green light” . . . not by a doctor, not by a dentist, but by a scientist who was working for the largest producer of fluoride in the entire country. I’m not joking, that’s how it all started!
At that time, the ADA and AMA were not yet on the take and they were screaming at Congress to stop this toxic assaultThe Journal of the American Dental Association, in 1936 warned that “fluoride at the 1 ppm (part per million) concentration is as toxic as arsenic and lead.”
In the 1940’s, countless studies proved conclusively that fluoride is toxic, causes cancer, damages the immune system, causes brain damage, and damages internal organs. But ALCOA, backed by the Military Industrial Complex, wanted a market for the waste created by the nuclear industry, promptly “classified” the incriminating results of each and every study.
They were bound and determined to make a profit from this toxic substance called sodium fluoride. In 1947, Oscar R. Ewing, a long-time ALCOA lawyer, was appointed head of the Federal Security Agency, a position that placed him in charge of the PHS.
Under Ewing, a national water fluoridation campaign began. The public relations strategist for the water fluoridation campaign was none other than Sigmund Freud’s nephew Edwin L. Bernays, known as the “Father of Spin.”
Bernays pioneered the application of his uncle’s theories to advertising and government “half truths.” In his book, Propaganda, Bernays argued that “scientific manipulation of public opinion is the key.” He stated, “A relatively small number of persons pull the wires which control the public mind.”
His techniques were simple: Pretend there is some favorable research by using phrases like “Numerous studies have shown…” or “Research has proven…” or “Scientific investigators have found…” but then never really cite anything. Say it long enough and loud enough, and eventually people will believe it. If anyone doubts you, attack their character and/or their intellect.
Bernays never strayed from his fundamental axiom to “control the masses without their knowing it.” He believed that the best “PR” occurs when the people are unaware that they are being manipulated. So, under Bernays’ spell, the popular image of fluoride (which at the time was being sold as bug and rat poison) became that of a beneficial provider of gleaming smiles, absolutely safe, and good for children. Any opponents were quickly and permanently engraved on the public mind as crackpots, quacks, and lunatics. In 1950, the government officially endorsed fluoridation, and today, over 70% of the nation’s reservoirs are fluoridated with almost 150,000 tons of sodium fluoride each and every year, despite the fact that it is a toxic waste and causes countless health problems.

In Summary

Truth be told, fluoride is a hazardous-waste by-product from aluminum, fertilizer, and the nuclear industries. But rather than paying to dispose of their hazardous waste, these companies are able to sell their waste to municipalities so they can drip it into our water and forcibly “mass-medicate” the entire population!
I am appalled at the prospect of using water as a vehicle for drugs. Fluoride is a corrosive poison that will produce serious damaging effects on a long term basis. Any attempt to use water this way is deplorable.
—Dr. Charles G. Heyd (past Presiden tof the AMA)
I leave you with this quote from EPA scientist, Dr. Robert Carton:
Fluoridation is the greatest case of scientific fraud in this century...

The Spice That Prevents Fluoride From Destroying Your Brain

Fluoride is found everywhere today, from antibiotics to drinking water, no stick pans to toothpaste, making exposure inevitable. All the more reason why new research proving this common spice can prevent fluoride damage is so promising!

Fluoride's neurotoxicity has been the subject of academic debate for decades, and now a matter of increasingly impassioned controversy among the general public, as well. From 'conspiracy theories' about it being first used in drinking water in Russian and Nazi concentration camps to chemically lobotomize captives, to its now well-known IQ lowering properties, to its ability to enhance the calcification of the pineal gland – the traditional 'seat of the soul' – many around the world, and increasingly in the heavily fluoridated regions of the United States, are starting to organize at the local and statewide level to oust this ubiquitous toxicant from municipal drinking water.

Now, a new study published in the Pharmacognosy Magazine titled, "Curcumin attenuates neurotoxicity induced by fluoride: An in vivo evidence," adds experimental support to the suspicion that fluoride is indeed a brain-damaging substance, also revealing that a natural spice-derived protective agent against the various health effects associated with this compound is available.

The study was authored by researchers from the Department of Zoology, University College of Science, M.L. Sukhadia University, Udaipur, India, who have spent the past decade investigating the mechanisms through which fluoride induces severe neurodegenerative changes in the mammalian brain, particularly in cells of the hippocampus and cerebral cortex.[i] [ii]

The study opens by describing the historical backdrop for concern about fluoride's significant and wide ranging toxicity:
"Fluoride (F) is probably the first inorganic ion which drew attention of the scientific world for its toxic effects and now the F toxicity through drinking water is well-recognized as a global problem. Health effect reports on F exposure also include various cancers, adverse reproductive activities, cardiovascular, and neurological diseases.[1,2]"

The study focused on
fluoride induced neurotoxicity, identifying excitoxicity (stimulation of the neuron to the point of death) and oxidative stress as the two main drivers of neurodegeneration.  It has been observed that subjects with the condition known as fluorosis, a mottling of tooth enamel caused by excessive exposure to fluoride during tooth development, also have neurodegenerative changes associated with a form of oxidative stress known as lipid peroxidation (rancidity).
Excess lipid peroxidation in the brain can lead to a decrease in total brain phospholipid content. Owing to these well-known mechanisms of fluoride associated neurotoxicity and neurodegeneration, the researchers identified the primary polyphenol in the spice turmeric -- known as curcumin – as an ideal agent worth testing as a neuroprotective substance.

Previous research on curcumin indicates that it is capable ofactiving as an antioxidant in 3 distinct ways by protecting against:
1) singlet oxygen
2) hyrodxyl radicals and
3) superoxide radical damage.

Also, curcumin appears to raise endogenous glutathione production in the brain, a major antioxidant defense system.
In order to assess the neurotoxic effects of fluoride and prove curcumin's protective role against it, researchers randomly divided up mice into four groups, for 30 days:
  1. Control (no fluoride)
  2. Fluoride (120 ppm): fluoride was given in distilled water drinking water without restriction.
  3. Fluoride (120 ppm/30 mg/kg body weight) + Curcumin: Oral dose of curcumin dissolved in olive oil along with fluoride in drinking water
  4. Curcumin: (30 mg/kg body weight)
In order to ascertain the effect of treatment, the researchers measured the malondialdehyde (MDA) content in the brains of the different treated mice. MDA is a well-known marker of oxidative stress/damage.
As was expected, the fluoride (F) only treatment group showed significantly elevated MDA levels vs. the non-fluoride treated control. The F + Curcumin group saw reduced MDA levels vs. the fluoride only group, demonstrating curcumin's neuroprotective activity against fluoride associated neurotoxicity.
The study concluded,

"Our study thus demonstrate that daily single dose of 120 ppm F result in highly significant increases in the LPO [lipid peroxidation, i.e. brain rancidity] as well as neurodegenerative changes in neuron cell bodies of selected hippocampal regions. Supplementation with curcumin significantly reduce the toxic effect of F to near normal level by augmenting the antioxidant defense through its scavenging property and provide an evidence of having therapeutic role against oxidative stress mediated neurodegeneration."

10 Proven Health Benefits of Turmeric and Curcumin

By Kris Gunnars |  authoritynutrition.com

Turmeric may be the most effective nutritional supplement in existence. Many high quality studies show that it has major benefits for your body and brain.
Here are the top 10 evidence-based health benefits of turmeric.

1. Turmeric Contains Bioactive Compounds With Powerful Medicinal Properties

Turmeric is the spice that gives curry its yellow color. It has been used in India for thousands of years as a spice and medicinal herb.
Recently, science has started to back up what the Indians have known for a long time… it really does contain compounds with medicinal properties (1).
These compounds are called curcuminoids, the most important of which is curcumin. Curcumin is the main active ingredient in turmeric. It has powerful anti-inflammatory effects and is a very strong antioxidant.
However, the curcumin content of turmeric is not that high… it’s around 3%, by weight (2).
Most of the studies on this herb are using turmeric extracts that contain mostly curcumin itself, with dosages usually exceeding 1 gram per day. It would be very difficult to reach these levels just using the turmeric spice in your foods. Therefore, if you want to experience the full effects, then you need to take an extract that contains significant amounts of curcumin.
Unfortunately, curcumin is poorly absorbed into the bloodstream. It helps to consume black pepper with it, which contains piperine… a natural substance that enhances the absorption of curcumin by 2000% (3).

I personally prefer to swallow a few whole peppercorns along with my curcumin supplement, in order to enhance absorption.
Curcumin is also fat soluble, so it may be a good idea to take it with a fatty meal.

Bottom Line: Turmeric is high in curcumin, a substance with powerful anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Most studies used turmeric extracts that are standardized to include large amounts of curcumin.

2. Curcumin is a Natural Anti-Inflammatory Compound

Inflammation is incredibly important.
It helps the body fight foreign invaders and also has a role in repairing damage. Without inflammation, pathogens like bacteria could easily take over our bodies and kill us. Although acute (short-term) inflammation is beneficial, it can become a major problem when it is chronic (long-term) and inappropriately deployed against the body’s own tissues.
It is now believed that chronic, low-level inflammation plays a major role in almost every chronic, Western disease. This includes heart disease, cancer, metabolic syndrome, Alzheimer’s and various degenerative conditions (456). Therefore, anything that can help fight chronic inflammation is of potential importance in preventing and even treating these diseases.
It turns out that curcumin is strongly anti-inflammatory, it is so powerful that it matches the effectiveness of some anti-inflammatory drugs (7). Curcumin actually targets multiple steps in the inflammatory pathway, at the molecular level.
Curcumin blocks NF-kB, a molecule that travels into the nuclei of cells and turns on genes related to inflammation. NF-kB is believed to play a major role in many chronic diseases (89).
Without getting into the gory details (inflammation is extremely complicated), the key takeaway here is that curcumin is a bioactive substance that fights inflammation at the molecular level (10, 11, 12).
In several studies, its potency has compared favorably to anti-inflammatory pharmaceutical drugs… except without the side effects (1314).
Bottom Line: Chronic inflammation is known to be a contributor to many common Western diseases. Curcumin can inhibit many molecules known to play major roles in inflammation.

3. Turmeric Dramatically Increases The Antioxidant Capacity of The Body

Oxidative damage is believed to be one of the mechanisms behind ageing and many diseases.

It involves free radicals, highly reactive molecules with unpaired electrons. Free radicals tend to react with important organic substances, such as fatty acids, proteins or DNA. The main reason antioxidants are so beneficial, is that they protect our bodies from free radicals.Curcumin happens to be a potent antioxidant that can neutralize free radicals due to its chemical structure (1516). But curcumin also boosts the activity of the body’s own antioxidant enzymes (1718,19).
In that way, curcumin delivers a one-two punch against free radicals. It blocks them directly, then stimulates the body’s own antioxidant mechanisms.
Bottom Line: Curcumin has powerful antioxidant effects. It neutralizes free radicals on its own, then stimulates the body’s own antioxidant enzymes.

4. Curcumin Boosts Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor, Linked to Improved Brain Function and a Lower Risk of Brain Diseases

Back in the day, it was believed that neurons weren’t able to divide and multiply after early childhood. However, it is now known that this does happen.
The neurons are capable of forming new connections, but in certain areas of the brain, they can also multiply and increase in number. One of the main drivers of this process is Brain-Derived Neurotrophic Factor(BDNF), which is a type of growth hormone that functions in the brain (20). Many common brain disorders have been linked to decreased levels of this hormone. This includes depression and Alzheimer’s disease (2122).
Interestingly, curcumin can increase brain levels of BDNF (2324).By doing this, it may be effective at delaying or even reversing many brain diseases and age-related decreases in brain function (25). There is also the possibility that it could help improve memory and make you smarter. Makes sense given its effects on BDNF levels, but this definitely needs to be tested in human controlled trials (26).
Bottom Line: Curcumin boosts levels of the brain hormone BDNF, which increases the growth of new neurons and fights various degenerative processes in the brain.

5. Curcumin Leads to Various Improvements That Should Lower Your Risk of Heart Disease

Heart disease is the biggest killer in the world (27).
It has been studied for many decades and researchers have learned a lot about why it happens. It turns out that heart disease is incredibly complicated and there are various things that contribute to it.
Curcumin may help reverse many steps in the heart disease process (28). Perhaps the main benefit of curcumin when it comes to heart disease, is improving the function of the endothelium, which is the lining of the blood vessels. It is well known that endothelial dysfunction is a major driver of heart disease and involves an inability of the endothelium to regulate blood pressure, blood clotting and various other factors (29).
Several studies suggest that curcumin leads to improvements in endothelial function. One study shows that is as effective as exercise, another shows that it works as well as the drug Atorvastatin (3031). But curcumin also reduces inflammation and oxidation (as discussed above), which are also important in heart disease.
In one study, 121 patients who were undergoing coronary artery bypass surgery were randomized to either placebo or 4 grams of curcumin per day, a few days before and after the surgery. The curcumin group had a 65% decreased risk of experiencing a heart attack in the hospital (32).

Bottom Line: Curcumin has beneficial effects on several factors known to play a role in heart disease. It improves the function of the endothelium and is a potent anti-inflammatory agent and antioxidant.

6. Turmeric Can Help Prevent (And Perhaps Even Treat) Cancer

Cancer is a terrible disease, characterized by uncontrolled growth of cells.

There are many different forms of cancer, but they do have several commonalities, some of which appear to be affected by curcumin supplementation (33). Researchers have been studying curcumin as a beneficial herb in cancer treatment. It can affect cancer growth, development and spread at the molecular level (34). Studies have shown that it can reduce angiogenesis (growth of new blood vessels in tumors), metastasis (spread of cancer), as well as contributing to the death of cancerous cells (35).
Multiple studies have shown that curcumin can reduce the growth of cancerous cells in the laboratory and inhibit the growth of tumours in test animals (3637).
Whether high-dose curcumin (preferably with an absorption enhancer like pepper) can help treat cancer in humans has yet to be tested properly. However, there is some evidence that it may help prevent cancer from occurring in the first place, especially cancers of the digestive system (like colorectal cancer).
In one study in 44 men with lesions in the colon that sometimes turn cancerous, 4 grams of curcumin per day for 30 days reduced the number of lesions by 40% (38). Maybe curcumin will be used along with conventional cancer treatment one day. It’s too early to say for sure, but it looks promising and this is being intensively studied as we speak.
Bottom Line: Curcumin leads to several changes on the molecular level that may help prevent and perhaps even treat cancer.

7. Curcumin May be Useful in Preventing and Treating Alzheimer’s Disease

Alzheimer’s disease is the most common neurodegenerative disease in the world and a leading cause of dementia.
Unfortunately, no good treatment is available for Alzheimer’s yet. Therefore, preventing it from showing up in the first place is of utmost importance. There may be good news on the horizon, because curcumin has been shown to cross the blood-brain barrier (39).
It is known that inflammation and oxidative damage play a role in Alzheimer’s disease. As we know, curcumin has beneficial effects on both (40). But one key feature of Alzheimer’s disease is a buildup of protein tangles called Amyloid plaques. Studies show that curcumin can help clear these plaques (41).
Whether curcumin can really slow down or even reverse the progression of Alzheimer’s disease needs to be studied properly (42).
Bottom Line: Curcumin can cross the blood-brain barrier and has been shown to lead to various improvements in the pathological process of Alzheimer’s disease.

8. Arthritis Patients Respond Very Well to Curcumin Supplementation

Arthritis is a common problem in Western countries.
There are several different types, but most involve some sort of inflammation in the joints. Given that curcumin is a potent anti-inflammatory, it makes sense that it could help with arthritis. Several studies show this to be true.
In a study of patients with rheumatoid arthritis, curcumin was even more effective than an anti-inflammatory drug (43). Many other studies have looked at the effects of curcumin on arthritis and noted improvements in various symptoms (4445).
Bottom Line: Arthritis is a common disorder characterized by joint inflammation. Many studies show that curcumin can help treat symptoms of arthritis and is in some cases more effective than anti-inflammatory drugs.

9. Studies Show That Curcumin Has Incredible Benefits Against Depression

Curcumin has shown some promise intreating depression.
In a controlled trial, 60 patients were randomized into three groups (46). One group took prozac, another group took a gram of curcumin and the third group took both prozac and curcumin. After 6 weeks, curcumin had led to improvements that were similar to prozac. The group that took both prozac and curcumin fared best. According to this (small) study, curcumin is as effective as an antidepressant.
Depression is also linked to reduced levels of brain-derived neurotrophic factor and a shrinking hippocampus, a brain area with a role in learning and memory. Curcumin boosts BNDF levels, potentially reversing some of these changes (47).
There is also some evidence that curcumin can boost the brain neurotransmitters serotonin and dopamine (4849).
Bottom Line: A study in 60 depressed patients showed that curcumin was as effective as prozac in alleviating the symptoms of depression.

10. Curcumin May Help Delay Ageing and Fight Age-Related Chronic Diseases

If curcumin can really help prevent heart disease, cancer and Alzheimer’s… then this would have obvious benefits for longevity.
For this reason, curcumin has become very popular as an anti-aging supplement (50).
But given that oxidation and inflammation are believed to play a role in ageing, curcumin may have effects that go way beyond just prevention of disease (51).

Anticonvulsive and antioxidant effects of curcumin on pilocarpine-induced seizures in rats.

Abstract

BACKGROUND:

Curcumin, an active ingredient of turmeric with antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties has recently been reported to have anticonvulsant effects in several animal models of epilepsy. This study aimed to investigate the effects of curcumin on the pilocarpine rat model of status epilepticus.

METHODS:

The effect of intraperitoneal administration of curcumin (30, 100, and 300 mg/kg) on pilocarpine-induced seizures in rats was tested. The correlation between seizure activity and hippocampal levels of nitric oxide synthase and free radicals was quantified. Whether curcumin treatment modulated these parameters was also investigated.

RESULTS:

Curcumin significantly increased seizure threshold at doses of 100 and 300 mg/kg. Rats with pilocarpine- induced seizures showed significantly elevated levels of malonaldehyde, nitric oxide synthase, and lactate dehydrogenase, but decreased levels of superoxide dismutase and glutathione compared with normal control rats. At doses of 100 and 300 mg/kg, curcumin reversed the effects of pilocarpine-induced seizures on nitric oxide synthase, lactate dehydrogenase, glutathione, and superoxide dismutase. However, curcumin did not restore the elevated malonaldehyde levels.

CONCLUSION:

Curcumin has anticonvulsant activity in the pilocarpine rat model of seizures, and that modulation of free radicals and nitric oxide synthase may be involved in this effect.
