It has been six years since the death of Jeffrey Epstein, but his name is once again creating a storm in American politics. This time, the controversy involves President Donald Trump.

The issue is linked to Epstein’s alleged ‘client file’—a secret list that reportedly includes names of powerful politicians, billionaires, and celebrities from around the world.

Now, the Trump administration is facing allegations of hiding these documents to protect influential people. Even the FBI and the Justice Department are being accused of covering up details from Epstein’s file.

Who was Epstein? What was his link to Trump? And why is this file so explosive? We explain the full controversy in six key chapters.

Chapter 1: From teacher to billionaire—Epstein’s rise to power

Jeffrey Epstein started out as a maths teacher in New York in the 1970s. A wealthy parent helped him connect with Wall Street firm Bear Stearns. In just four years, Epstein became a partner. Though later fired for fraud, he launched his own company claiming to manage money only for billionaires.

By the 1990s, Epstein had bought luxury homes in New York, Florida and New Mexico. He hosted lavish parties attended by global celebrities like Bill Clinton, Michael Jackson and scientist Stephen Hawking. But behind the wealth, suspicions around his real business started to grow.

Chapter 2: Trump and Epstein’s friendship

Donald Trump met Epstein at a party. In a 2002 interview, Trump praised Epstein, saying, “We both like beautiful young women.”

Trump hosted him at his Mar-a-Lago resort in 1992. NBC later released a video showing both watching and commenting on women. Media reports claim Trump flew on Epstein’s private jet—nicknamed the Lolita Express—at least seven times. Trump denied visiting Epstein’s island or doing anything wrong.

Chapter 3: Friendship ends over a property deal

In 2004, both Trump and Epstein tried to buy a luxury property in Palm Beach, Florida. Trump won the bid and later said he was no longer friends with Epstein. He claimed they hadn’t spoken in 15 years.

This marked the end of their public association. A photo from 1997 remains one of the last images showing them together.

Chapter 4: The first case of abuse

In 2005, a 14-year-old girl’s mother reported Epstein for sexual abuse in Palm Beach. Police soon uncovered a larger network. Over 50 girls made similar allegations.

Epstein, along with partner Ghislaine Maxwell, lured girls using money and promises. Despite serious charges, Epstein got a light sentence in 2008—13 months, with permission to work outside jail during the day.

Epstein's girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested in 2020. She has been in jail since then. She has been sentenced to 20 years.

Chapter 5: Me Too brings Epstein back in spotlight

After the 2017 #MeToo movement, new survivors came forward. One of them, Virginia Giuffre, said she was recruited at age 16 from Trump’s Mar-a-Lago club by Maxwell.

She claimed Epstein forced her into sex with powerful men. While she didn’t accuse Trump of abuse, her connection to Mar-a-Lago reignited scrutiny. In April 2025, Giuffre died by suicide, again drawing attention to Epstein’s dark past.

Chapter 6: Epstein's mysterious death

Epstein was arrested again in July 2019 on sex trafficking charges. Just weeks later, he was found dead in his jail cell. Officially ruled a suicide, his death raised serious doubts—camera footage was missing, bones in his neck were broken, and guards were absent.

Many believe Epstein was murdered to keep his secrets buried. The FBI and Justice Department began investigations, but critics say the full truth remains hidden—even under the Trump administration, which is now accused of keeping the client list secret.

Epstein's girlfriend Maxwell jailed for 20 years

After Jeffrey Epstein’s death, his longtime associate and girlfriend Ghislaine Maxwell was arrested in 2020. In 2022, she was sentenced to 20 years in prison for her role in sex trafficking.

Victims Sarah Ransome and Elizabeth Stein were seen leaving court after the verdict. Over time, court documents, flight logs, and survivor testimonies—like that of Virginia Giuffre—suggested that Epstein’s client list may include several powerful figures.

Some names, including Bill Clinton and Prince Andrew, appeared in documents released in 2019, 2024, and again in January 2025. However, no solid evidence has emerged against them so far.

Why the Epstein files are controversial: key points

  • Lax security before death: The Justice Department and FBI are accused of deliberately weakening Jeffrey Epstein’s security in jail before his death in 2019.
  • Unanswered questions: Jail cameras were mysteriously turned off and guards were reportedly asleep when Epstein died. Key files and evidence are still missing or unreleased.
  • Demand to release secret records: Survivors and the media have demanded that confidential 'Grand Jury' documents related to Epstein be made public.
  • Protection of powerful names: There are allegations that the FBI ignored or shielded several high-profile individuals linked to Epstein.
  • Elon Musk’s claim: On June 5, 2025, Elon Musk alleged that Donald Trump’s name is in the Epstein files—suggesting this is why the records haven’t been released.
  • Trump’s broken promise: Trump had vowed to release the Epstein files when he became president, but never followed through.
  • Growing backlash: A recent Wall Street Journal report has reignited public anger. Even some Trump supporters are now demanding answers.
  • Justice Department’s latest statement: In 2025, the Justice Department said it would release the Epstein files—but gave no clear timeline.

Ukraine working on ‘dirty bomb’ plot – Moscow

  • Shipments of spent radioactive fuel were transported through Poland and Romania without notifying the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).
  • The Samson Option: Israel's Nuclear Arsenal & American Foreign Policy by Seymour Hersh.
  • The Samson Option explodes one of the world's most closely guarded secrets—the secret of Israel's atomic arsenal. It relates, for the first time, the political, diplomatic, and military repercussions that have for decades been concealed from the world.

It is also about America's ability not to see what it does not want to see. All American presidents since John F. Kennedy have turned a blind eye toward Israel's growing nuclear capacity while paying lip service to the goal of nuclear nonproliferation.
In The Samson Option, Seymour M. Hersh, the Pulitzer Prize-winner who wrote the first account of the My Lai massacre in South Vietnam, reveals one of the classic clandestine operations of our time: Israel's spectacular underground nuclear facility in the Negev Desert, where its technicians and scientists began manufacturing nuclear warheads in the late 1960s.

Ukraine working on ‘dirty bomb’ plot – Moscow

Kiev is covertly importing radioactive materials that can be used in an attack in a densely populated area, a senior defense official says
Ukraine working on ‘dirty bomb’ plot – Moscow

Ukraine is smuggling radioactive materials into the country that can be used to assemble a dirty bomb for a false-flag attack, potentially causing widespread contamination across Europe, a senior Russian defense official claims.

Speaking at a briefing on Thursday, Major General Aleksey Rtishchev, the head of Russia’s Radiation, Chemical and Biological Protection Troops, warned that Ukraine is engaging in what he described as nuclear blackmail,” saying its actions pose serious security and environmental risks.

Rtishchev said shipments of spent radioactive fuel were transported through Poland and Romania without notifying the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

He added that the operation was overseen by Andrey Yermak, a former senior aide to Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky. Yermak resigned last month after being linked to a major energy-sector corruption scandal involving Zelensky’s close associates, although he was not formally charged.

”This creates the risk of creating a so-called ‘dirty bomb’ and then using it ‘under a false flag,’” Rtishchev said. A dirty bomb does not cause a nuclear explosion but disperses radioactive material over a wide area, creating severe contamination and long-term danger to civilians.

The general added that Russia has obtained training materials used by Ukraine’s security service that simulate scenarios involving the theft of ionizing radiation sources, the assembly of an explosive device, and detonation in densely populated areas.

Rtishchev stressed that Western assistance is encouraging Kiev to violate international nuclear regulations. The “Western ‘patrons’ fail to take into account that the degradation of the system of state administration is capable of pushing not only Ukraine, but also a number of European states, to the brink of an environmental catastrophe,” he said.

Moscow previously warned that Ukraine could seek to use a dirty bomb in an attempt to derail the ongoing US-mediated peace talks. Russian officials have said this would involve extreme risks and could prompt a severe response from Moscow, including the possibility of tactical nuclear retaliation.
