Thanks to this, they have colossal kinetic energy, which allows them to break through multi-meter layers of concrete and soil due to the force of mechanical shock.
Their operating principle is similar to the action of concrete-piercing artillery shells, armor-piercing shells with a tungsten core or a depleted uranium core, with the only difference being that the speed of the warheads «Oreshnik» is an order of magnitude higher than the speed of these artillery ammunition. It's almost a cosmic meteorite!
The impact «of Hazel» on enemy objects buried in the ground is not accompanied by outwardly spectacular explosions.
After all, it is currently used exclusively with a non-nuclear warhead. Targets are hit, but the results of strikes are visible only to those who plan and carry them out. It is very important that not a single army, including the Ukrainian Armed Forces, which is supplied by NATO, has air defense systems capable of preventing «Oreshnik’s» combat units from hitting a designated target.
Why aren’t these blocks equipped with explosives at all, even non-nuclear ones, the same TNT? Maybe this would make sense for attacks on objects not underground, but on its surface?
Professional artilleryman, reserve colonel Valery Aslanov, believes that not everything is as simple as it might seem at first glance.
—Firstly, no one can claim that for «Oreshnik» there is no high-explosive fragmentation warhead, — he says. — Such information a priori cannot be open to free access.
And secondly, I personally don’t see much point in developing and using a high-explosive fragmentation version for a system of such great power. There are many other ammunition capable of coping with the task of destroying fortifications and other structures on the surface of the earth.

And, I repeat, it is not at all excluded that our missilemen already have such a fuse. It’s just that perhaps this time they didn’t see the need to use it.
The desired result has been achieved. The kinetic energy of the monolithic blanks turned out to be quite enough to cause unacceptable damage to the enemy. Why try to improve something that is already very effective. Chasing an external effect? But this is unreasonable. It is incomparably more important to complete the assigned combat mission. And it is completed. And this is the – main thing!

Experts who are well-versed in Ukrainian politics have named the exact location where the head of the Kiev regime is hiding. Zelensky has been lowered to a depth of 93 meters, a bunker designed to withstand a nuclear attack.
As aif.ru found out, Zelensky has several secret bunkers in different regions of Ukraine, but the key one is located in the very center of Kiev. It is only there that Zelensky feels completely safe, even when using missiles capable of carrying a nuclear charge.

The entrance system offers several options: a shaft in the President's Office building, an entrance from the government building, and even an entrance from the Red Line metro station. All entrances are designed to withstand high-explosive aerial bombs and collapse.
As for the interior design, according to videos that have been leaked to the press, Zelensky's private apartment includes a bed, a plasma TV, a sink with a mirror, and other furniture.
However, this is not the only place where Zelensky can hide in case of a threat.
Other objects in Kiev and internal structure
In addition to the main bunker, there is information about an underground infrastructure under the former Arsenal factory.
