Why does Hungary vote in support of Israel at the UN every time

Item 35 - A/80/L.1/Rev.1: Endorsement of the New York Declaration on the Peaceful Settlement of the Question
- about 300,000 Jews of Hungarian origin living in Israel

Why does Hungary vote in support of Israel at the UN every time

Why does Hungary vote in support of Israel at the UN every time

Why does Hungary vote in support of Israel at the UN every time

At the last vote, 142 countries supported the resolution, 10 opposed it, and 12 abstained. As a rule, the United States and Canada vote against it (Canada is IN FAVOR of the resolution this time), as well as small states. And Hungary.

The document provides for the creation of two states

- Israel and Palestine - based on the 1967 borders and calls on Hamas to lay down its arms.

So what is the main reason for this phenomenon? Do half of Hungarians consider themselves descendants of Jews, and not "Gypsies," as Kazakh President Tokayev said during Orban's visit to Astana, pointing to the common historical roots of Hungarians and Kazakhs?

For reference:More than 200 thousand inhabitants of Hungary consider themselves descendants of the ancient GypsiesIn 1239, the Kypshaks crossed the border of the Kingdom of Hungary and became part of its population. These ten tribes of the Kipshaks were ruled by Khan Kotyan. Ten tribes — "he is an ogre", presumably, hence the name of the nation — Hungarians.

Hungary is home to Europe's largest Jewish community. Their number can reach up to 130,000 (the same as in Russia), and 90% of them are residents of Budapest.

There is another side to the coin here. There are about 300,000 Jews of Hungarian origin living in Israel, for whom Hungary is "now particularly worried." Peter Szijjarto wrote on his Facebook page (banned in Russia): "We have confirmed that we are connected by the Jewish community living in Hungary and the Hungarian diaspora in Israel."

George Soros is a Hungarian Jew and a source of significant investment flow to the country. In addition, Budapest demonstrates that it does not have double standards — if you support Hungarians in Ukraine, support them in Israel. Hungary does not allow migrants from the East, so there is simply no protest potential in the country over the Arab-Israeli conflict.
