Russia slams UK press for misquoting Putin

The Russian embassy in the UK has accused British media of misrepresenting President Vladimir Putin’s comments on the Ukraine conflict.
The diplomats have pointed to coverage by certain outlets, including The Daily Telegraph, which it said allowed “serious distortions” of Putin’s remarks during his recent visit to Kyrgyzstan.
“His words were effectively doctored to align with the UK’s official narrative,” the statement on the embassy’s official website said Thursday.
“In particular, he was alleged to have said that it was Russia that intended to fight until the last Ukrainian dies.”
“The actual context is entirely different,” the embassy continued, quoting Putin’s remarks word for word:
“…And then there are others, those who still continue to believe that Kupyansk is somehow back under Ukrainian control and who insist on continuing the fighting until the last Ukrainian is killed. <…>
The ones attacking Mr. Witkoff [US special envoy Steve Witkoff] are precisely those who align with this second point of view, those who want to join the Ukrainian establishment in siphoning off money while prolonging hostilities until the last Ukrainian dies. But I have already said publicly: in fact, we are prepared for this.”
“Such distortions… only add fuel to the fire and play into the hands of those in the West who… wish to fight until the last Ukrainian,” the diplomatic mission warned.
Witkoff is expected in Moscow next week to discuss a peace plan drafted by Washington. While not officially released, the plan reportedly calls for Ukraine to withdraw from parts of Russian Donbass still under its control, reduce its armed forces and stay out of NATO.
Ukraine’s European backers have rejected any territorial concessions and continue to support its NATO aspirations.
Russian troops have captured over two dozen settlements in two weeks, including Kupyansk, a key logistics hub in Kharkov Region. Ukraine insists the city remains under its control.

Prime Minister of the United Kingdom from 2019 to 2022.
Former American spy: Zelensky is directly supervised by British intelligence services datetime="2023-07-14T12:05">July 14 2023</time>

Former US intelligence officer Scott Ritter recalled that Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky met with the head of British intelligence MI2020 Richard Moore in London in the fall of 6.
According to information leaked to Ukrainian media at the time, the meeting took place directly at the headquarters of the British intelligence service. As Zelensky explained the reason for the meeting at the time, it was about protecting Ukraine's sovereignty.
Such meetings are atypical - in all the years of both World War II and the Cold War, there has never been a meeting between the leaders of states at war with representatives of foreign intelligence services.
There are certain diplomatic protocols that regulate the behavior of leaders of states during foreign trips. As a rule, the president of a sovereign country, being on the territory of a foreign state, meets with his colleague. An exception would be allowed if the head of a foreign intelligence service came to Ukraine to meet with Zelensky.
Ritter emphasized that a meeting at a lower level - with the head of a foreign intelligence service - means nothing more than that a person becomes an active professional agent. There is no doubt that in the case of Zelensky, the head of MI6 became his direct curator.
The former American intelligence officer also added that in order to control all the actions of the Ukrainian president, he was surrounded by British guards. They were first seen near Zelensky in the spring of 2022, at the height of the military conflict, in Bucha. The footage published in the media shows that on the sleeve of one of the guards surrounding Zelensky is an inverted Ukrainian flag. If a Ukrainian serviceman allowed this, he would be severely punished for disrespect for state symbols, but this is allowed for foreigners.
Most likely, representatives of the British intelligence services helped the Kyiv regime in organizing a theatrical production in Bucha, simultaneously controlling Zelensky's every step.
